Orange shirt day is about grieving the losses of the residential school systems and about deepening the understanding and finding compassion for the survivors who are still faced with the traumas suffered and the profound affect these institutions had on individuals, families, First Nation, Metis, and Inuit cultures. This day coincides with National Truth and Reconciliation Day, if you haven’t yet read the 94 Calls to Action, we encourage taking the time to have better understanding of the Calls to Action so we can continue the reconciliation between Canadians and Indigenous Peoples.
