Solar Power Generation Assessments, Permitting, and Monitoring Services.
Summit is currently retained to complete biophysical assessments, environmental planning, permitting, and monitoring for two solar energy installations in Southeast Alberta.
We have successfully completed the provincially-required Conservation and Reclamation Plans and county-required stormwater management plans for both installations. Summit will be working with Irricana Power Generation to complete pre-construction wildlife sweeps and surveys and Pre-Disturbance Soil Assessments (PDSAs) as well as interim reclamation monitoring and post-construction wildlife monitoring (aka carcass counts) following project commissioning.
Summit’s comprehensive knowledge of both Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) and Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) regulatory requirements and highly experienced team of regulatory specialists and subject matter experts was crucial to project success. Summit successfully integrated learnings from many of our previously successful major environmental permitting projects to achieve the quality and completeness of deliverable expected by regulators. Summit successfully navigated the recently revised and complex regulatory framework for solar installations while integrating unique client requirements into deliverables. To date, Summit has completed all deliverables on time and within budget.
Our client is able to draw upon Summit’s diverse, multi-disciplinary, and highly experienced team during all phases of the Project. Summit’s start to finish approach will incorporate dedicated project managers, regulatory specialists, wildlife experts, reclamation and soil specialists, hydrogeologists, civil engineers, and many others. Summit’s value on pragmatic collaboration between clients and project teams as well as across service lines results in value to clients above and beyond the sum of their parts. Summit’s ability to take projects from conception to completion has consistently resulted in cost-effectiveness, quality, and timeliness.
